The inspiration behind this painting was the windows of the factory. Tall dark windows where you could only see the haze of sunlight of the outside world. Each square was marked out but then individually hand-painted, with the darker background added after, in freehand. This canvas has multiple layers of paint over and again before the final texture and depth were achieved. I then made a wooden frame and fixed it to the canvas with bright steel screws for a more industrial look. My first big canvas project – that takes pride of place in my home.
