Exactly as the New Year began, my surgeon scheduled an operation on my left wrist, which meant my little case of De Quervain’s led to a few weeks of making sure I didn’t overdo things. As a painter and event organiser that is rather testing, especially considering I am also left-handed. It was easier a few years ago when it was the other wrist! To get back into painting I tend to start small and take my time with a few mini canvases.
These usually get repainted time and again but I find them a great way to stay in touch with the paint while planning larger projects. For this week that has meant the arrival of a small cat face, a dog’s head, and a small riverbank scene. Hopefully, in a few weeks, I can get back to bigger canvases ready for my next exhibition in March.
